datamoderated likes to use common sense when approaching the problem of technology waste. Instead of bloating a local landfill or sending servers to a disposal facility who just ships the waste overseas, we first try to give it a second life.

We use goverment approved harddrive erasure methods to clean the system of all data. Then we clean up, upgrade or improve where possible the servers with as many spare parts as we can. After the machine has been tested and verified, we offer it to members of the community for free. Often these systems will support local charities or businesses.

Sometimes a server has just had it, and its not reusable at all. In that case we do send them to an eco friendly technology partner for safe recycling.
